Athletic Health Services

Mission

The mission of Shelby County Interscholastic Athletic Association (SCIAA) Athletic Health Services (AHS) is to promote and maintain the health and safety of the student-athlete in training and competition.   AHS is comprised of Certified Athletic Trainers who are licensed health care professionals that specialize in preventing, recognizing, managing and rehabilitating injuries that result from physical activity. As part of a complete health care team, the certified athletic trainer works in cooperation with  physicians, other health care professionals, athletic administrators, coaches and parents.

Athletic Training and Rehabilitation Centers

AHS offers a rehabilitation center with services to student-athletes free of charge. Our facilities are located inside Sheffield High School and Raleigh-Egypt High School and are available by appointment.

This facility is professionally staffed with a Licensed/Certified Athletic Trainer. Certified Athletic Trainers are health care professionals who specialize in preventing, recognizing, managing and rehabilitating injuries that result from physical activity. Certified Athletic Trainers do not take the place of physicians. Certified Athletic Trainers work in cooperation with physicians, as well as athletic administrators, coaches and parents, to provide health care services for student-athletes.

Please know that rehabilitation services are available to every student-athlete during the school year. Please contact the above listed Certified Athletic Trainer for appointments and further details.
